WELLNESS: I Swear By This
Since about the beginning of the year I made a conscious effort to look at what I was putting on and ingesting into my body. Even though I thought I was making good choices it's pretty amazing, once you really pay attention, the amount of chemicals that are used on a daily basis.
I first started with my health and beauty care by incorporating Young Living Essential Oils into my life. I was introduced to it years ago and alway swore by Thieves when anyone in the family felt a cold coming on. It almost immediately made our symptoms go away. When the kids were younger we called it the miracle oil. At that time that was the only product I used.
But since then there have been so many more new products and I started looking at the line much more closely. Today I use oils on a daily basis for various things, I changed out cleaning supplies, I switched my multi-vitamin and I did a huge overhaul on personal care items. There are so many things that I love! The one personal care switch I feel moved to blog about is my nightly homemade skin toner that I pump on my face every night before going to bed.
This is swear by, seriously (and I'm not getting a dime for saying this)! It is not only so refreshing and calming but it has made a huge different in my skin, in both the way it looks and feels. It's a new nighttime routine that I look forward to!
Introducing my two new best friends, Lavender and Frankincense. I mix 10 drop of each with Witch Hazel in a glass spray bottle and I'm not kidding it is magic!
Frankincense does so many incredible things and in this case it is an anti-aging superpower. When mixed with Lavender it helps with reducing wrinkles and treating acne. With all that, another reason I love it so much is because the smell is so calming that it relaxes me for a good night sleep.
"Frankincense has the ability to strengthen skin and improve its tone, elasticity, defense mechanisms against bacteria or blemishes, and appearance as someone ages."
This natural, holistic approach to my nighttime routine has made a difference, and is something I'm excited about for my wellness journey, so I just had to share.
Is there something you've incorporated into your nighttime wellness routine that you swear by? I'd love to learn what that is. Write a comment (don't be shy) or send me a message. I'd love to share what works.
