WELLNESS: Spoiler ... Eating Healthy Can Taste Good

To be totally transparent, once I hit 50 something in my body, (my stomach, thighs and behind to be specific), changed. Call it age, metabolism, or just not paying too much attention to what I was putting in my mouth, but noticeable and not so thrilling changes started to take place.


So back in February I decided it was time to do something about it. I was already exercising a couple times a week at a Cyclebar spin class, and I thought I was making decent choices with my diet, but that actually wasn't the case. I was enlightened to that reality as soon as I downloaded the Lose It app to track my calories and log what I was eating all day long. The Lose It app made me aware of the poor choices I was actually making.


I realized that as soon as I downloaded the Lose It app to track my calories and log what I was eating all day long!

I immediately started making conscious choices, eating way more fruits and vegetables, lean meats and a lot less sugar. I know, I know, it's what they say all the time. But when you not only track what you're eating but how much of it you are eating it really does make a difference.


Since February I've dropped 16 pounds (yay)and most importantly I feel fantastic! I have more energy and I look better too. Surprisingly I've actually enjoyed eating healthy and it's much easier than I thought. Don't get me wrong I enjoy an occasional splurge now and then because I deserve it. We all do.


Tip For Eating Healthier:

I made a change from rice to riced cauliflower. I buy it frozen in the veggie section. There are all types of flavors. Most of the time I just buy the original plain and add my own seasonings. My favorite dish is a taco bowl with cauliflower rice, ground turkey, corn, lettuce, tomato, avocado and a little bit of cheese. The other day I splurged a bit and added a dollop of low-fat sour cream. Delicious!! Very low in calories too.
